Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Coming To Wadesboro

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, a Miami-based quick-service restaurant chain, has announced its new Wadesboro location on U.S. Highway 74 near Uptown. The 1,900 square foot facility will be built on a currently vacant lot between Autozone and Arby's. Construction will begin immediately and should be completed in about four months.

Popeyes is expected to invest about $2 million in the new restaurant and will create about 30 new jobs. The announcement continues a boom in investment along the U.S. 74 "Strip" in Wadesboro, Anson County, North Carolina, where Wendy's, McDonald's, Bojangles, Burger King, Roses, and KFC have all built new stores or remodeled existing locations over the past two years.

Founded in 1972, Popeyes distinguishes itself with a unique New Orleans style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, and other regional items. This unique and flavorful food has allowed Popeyes to become one of the world’s largest chicken quick-service restaurants, with over 2,700 units in the U.S. and around the world.

  1. That's nice too, but I wish the commissioners would try and bring in some big time jobs to the area.
